Make Your Own Plaid Patterns Online!

PlaidMaker is an online tool for making plaid patterns. To get started making plaids, fill in the stuff on the left.

  1. First pick your colors. When you click on the input box, a color picker will pop up and then you can drag the little dot around to pick the colors you like.
  2. Make rows & columns of color using the colors you chose in step 1. Widths are specified in pixels (px). To see how big a pixel is, just try it out! You can think of them as threads.
  3. Once you've entered at least one row and one column you can preview what the plaid looks like. You can preview it as many times as you like. The more the better.
  4. After you've previewed the plaid pattern you'll have three options:
    1. Set as background—This will change the background of this webpage to repeat the plaid pattern you've created. This is a quick way to see what your plaid looks like when it's repeated.
    2. Download it—Download it to your computer and use it on your own webpage or set it as your computer's desktop wallpaper. You can see one of the plaids in use at twitter.com/plaidmaker.
    3. Save it to the gallery—This will save your plaid pattern to the PlaidMaker.org gallery for everyone to see!
